30 Days, 30 Years - A Challenge!

Starting April, I am doing something CRAZY different. I am going to dedicate the 30 days to listening to music from (at least) 30 years ago!

I wanna do this ‘cause I am curious to see how the music affects my songwriting. I once heard someone say, to make original(-ish) music you have to go back to the beginnings and go from there. I don’t know if that’s true, and 30 years isn’t quite “the beginnings”, but we’ll see what happens.

So, my rules are:
- 1st - 30th of April
- 1981 is my cut off year. (Unfortunately The Smiths don’t make the cut. Aw man!)

Exceptions are:
- Classes: I study music, so no doubt I will have to listen and play things outside of the challenge
- Friends: I won’t dominate my friends stereos if they don’t want to partake or push it if they have had enough of my tunez.

Exciting! This is going to be me soon:

(The wagging finger is probably me telling you that I’m way more legit. 2legit2quit.)

This blog is a good way to see how it’s going, so ‘follow’ if you like! Also, if you feel the urge, challenge yourself as well! It’ll be nice to do it with other people to share our new ‘indie’, ‘vintage’ faves! LAWL

So, as The Cars say: Let the good times roll.
